About Lafayette, LA
Lafayette is at the heart of Louisiana’s Cajun & Creole Country, an area known as the Happiest City in America. Their history dates back to the 18th century, when Canada’s Acadians were expelled and settled in Louisiana. More than two centuries later tourists visit for a rare taste of the genuine Acadian experience.
- Enjoy the great climate - South Louisiana summers are filled with sunshine and winters are mild and comfortable, rarely dipping below 50 degrees.
- School spirit is strong here with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and its Ragin Cajuns.
- Lafayette's numerous rivers, waterways, and lakes are an incredible playground for any outdoorsman, whether duck hunting, fishing or birdwatching.
- Lafayette is home to a symphony orchestra, the Hilliard Art Museum, the Heymann Performing Arts Center, Acadiana Center for the Arts, and a plethora of local galleries.
- Whether you are craving gumbo, crawfish, boudin, a Po-Boy, king cake, etouffee, or French Cuisine - Lafayette has the Cajun & Creole flavors you crave, along with the freshest in Louisiana Gulf seafood.
- Enjoy various retail shops, wineries, and restaurants that specialize in the culinary experience local to the Cajun Country!
Meet Our Executive Director
Angela Davies
“I live in Lafayette, LA, with my husband and I am a mother of three. Originally from Houma, LA, I developed my passion for caring for seniors when my family and I became caregivers for our father after he was diagnosed with Dementia. Before advancing my career and becoming an executive director, I spent many years as a receptionist, lifestyle director, business office manager, and assistant executive director in the world of assisted living.”
