About Lafayette, LA
Lafayette is at the heart of Louisiana’s Cajun & Creole Country, an area known as the Happiest City in America. Their history dates back to the 18th century, when Canada’s Acadians were expelled and settled in Louisiana. More than two centuries later tourists visit for a rare taste of the genuine Acadian experience.
- Enjoy the great climate - South Louisiana summers are filled with sunshine and winters are mild and comfortable, rarely dipping below 50 degrees. School spirit is strong here with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and its Ragin Cajuns.
- Lafayette's numerous rivers, waterways, and lakes are an incredible playground for any outdoorsman, whether duck hunting, fishing or birdwatching.
- Lafayette is home to a symphony orchestra, the Hilliard Art Museum, the Heymann Performing Arts Center, Acadiana Center for the Arts, and a plethora of local galleries.
- Whether you are craving gumbo, crawfish, boudin, a Po-Boy, king cake, etouffee, or French Cuisine - Lafayette has the Cajun & Creole flavors you crave, along with the freshest in Louisiana Gulf seafood.
- Enjoy various retail shops, wineries, and restaurants that specialize in the culinary experience local to the Cajun Country!
Meet Our Executive Director
Jennifer Dudd
“I began my career in nursing as a C.N.A. and then became a L.P.N. I worked in direct care before moving into management roles after earning my bachelor degree. After raising my family, I have been serving as an Administrator in long term care and assisted living communities in several states over the last 20 years. My passion is serving our seniors to be a part of making each day the best that it can be.”
